Tbilisi Landscape Model by Renato Rizzi and Ubani

Ubani, in collaboration with Renato Rizzi, is organising a workshop focused on the city's landscape. Following this workshop, an exhibition will take place at TBC Concept.

Renato Rizzi and his colleagues from Venice, along with local assistants, will conduct a workshop aimed at studying the city and developing a landscape model of Tbilisi. This initiative will involve young multidisciplinary professionals, who will be selected through an Open Call.

The project emphasises the importance of handmade craftsmanship by employing a unique technique resulting in distinctive and unique pieces. This manual production process fosters concentration and sensitivity in the design process, especially in a contemporary context dominated by readily available technology.

The models showcased in the exhibition aim to enhance the understanding of the city and provide a comprehensive view of Tbilisi, offering perspectives that are usually inaccessible to the public. These will be the only physical landscape models of Tbilisi available for viewing.

The project’s initial stages have commenced in collaboration with postgraduate students from VA[A]DS. This preparatory work includes creating zenithal and panoramic models, preparing drawings of the city's landscape, determining the shapes and scales of the models, and producing training samples for the upcoming workshop.
